Beatle Mania knocks Winsford for six!
Saturday 1st March will be the date that many Insurers will see on claims for damaged hearing aids as The Beatles for Sale tribute band stormed through 1hr.45mins. of ageless Beatle songs.
” I Feel Fine” soon turned to “Help!” as the band rocked the very foundations of the Winsford Village Hall where most of the sold-out audience remembered the original band the first time around!
No matter, after a few introductory numbers like “She Loves You”, the dance floor was full to overflowing and people were interpreting their version of the Twist and the Shake in their own unique way!
The authenticity of the band was staggering, from the amplifiers (AC30’s), to the guitars like Lennon’s Rickenbacker to Paul McCartney’s Hofner violin bass, to the mannerisms and accents brilliantly portrayed. Vinny, Simon x 2 and Chris were also really nice guys and excellent musicians.
The bar did great business and the Raffle at the interval allowed the band to change in to another costume for the second half.
The Fancy Dress competition was won by Orla Jones, but there were some fantastic outfits, so thanks to everyone who entered into the spirit of the occasion!
Three encores after “Hey Jude”(naturally..) and the final number “Rock ‘n Roll Music” sent everyone away happy and humming in a variety of different modes….!
The event was organised with the aim to bring an evening of entertainment to Winsford but the output allowed us also to contribute £701 to our favoured charity “Love Musgrove”!
A big thank you to everyone involved with helping, donating prizes and for just being there supporting the event!
Further events are planned so…watch this space!
