Beacon for Rembrance
On the 11th November 2018, the United Kingdom and its friends overseas will mark
the day 100 years ago when the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War.
There will be a chance to pay our personal tribute to those millions who died
or returned wounded from the dreadful four years of war by joining together on
Winsford Hill at Wambarrows on November 11th at 6.55pm for the lighting of a
beacon. This will be one of several in the area and it is hoped the weather will
not prevent our seeing the surrounding beacons light up in memory of those to
whom we owe so much.
